Support status

Yes, there is support for GCU hardware. Firmware updates, hardware repair and configuration help are available from Apex Control Innovations, and the documentation on this site is maintained.

HTG Electronics sp. z o.o. ceased operating in 2024. The firmware running on GCU units was written by the same author who maintains this documentation, and that is why the software side can still be supported.

What is available

  • Firmware updates. The firmware line your unit runs is still maintained. See Firmware and software.
  • Hardware repair. Diagnosis, board-level repair, recalibration and test. See Repair and service.
  • Configuration help. Setting up inputs, outputs and a transmission driver.
  • Documentation. Wiring, pinouts, fault codes and configuration reference, covering the current hardware and applying to your unit wherever the two are the same.

What is not available

  • The original configuration software is not distributed here. It is not ours to publish. Firmware and software explains what is used instead.
  • Warranty claims cannot be handled here. Apex Control Innovations is a separate company and is not the original manufacturer's successor. Service work is quoted and charged on its own terms.
  • Original accessories and spare connectors are not stocked under their original part numbers. Equivalents are usually available — ask.

Units in some serial ranges have known service items associated with them. If yours is working, that is not a reason to send it in — but it is worth knowing which side of the hardware revision boundary it sits on before you plan a firmware update. Identify your unit and Repair and service.

What to have ready

Have these four things before you get in touch. They decide most of the answer:

  1. The serial number stamped on the unit.
  2. The firmware version it is running.
  3. The transmission it is driving, and the vehicle it is in.
  4. The engine control unit it is connected to, if any.

Identify your unit explains where to find the first two.

Getting in touch

Email contact@apex-control.com with the four items above and a description of the symptom. That is the single route in for both service and technical questions.
