Porsche PDK (7DT45) — Wiring

This page describes how to connect a Porsche 7DT45 PDK control unit and its shifter to IOcan. Before wiring, familiarize yourself with the general Wiring Concepts and the device pinout.

Unlike the BMW transmissions, the 7DT45 uses a single CAN network for all communication between the control unit, the shifter, and IOcan, plus a LIN serial line between the control unit and the shifter.

Pin descriptions

CAN-H / CAN-L

These pins are responsible for all communication between the 7DT45 control unit, the shifter, and IOcan.

Serial

This is a LIN network that needs to be connected to the shifter serial line.

Shiftlock supply / Shiftlock −

These pins are responsible for unlocking the shifter for engaging a gear.

KL15

This terminal has to be connected to the WAKEUP OUT pin on IOcan.

KL30

This terminal has to be connected to KL30B OUT on IOcan. This is a current-carrying connection which has to be made with wire of 2.5mm².

KL31

This terminal is ground for the transmission. This is a current-carrying connection which has to be made with wire of 2.5mm².
